Outpatient Care
New drugs and new techniques allow patients to receive their treatments in brief outpatient visits, rather than having to spend a day or more in the hospital. Many patients continue to work, to go to school, to remain where they want to be: in the comfort of their own homes.
The Cancer Center has pharmacy coverage, which allows chemotherapy to be mixed and given to patients promptly. Outpatient therapy is provided five days a week, a convenience for many. The separate outpatient area has comfortable reclining chairs, a television, and windows that let in plenty of soothing, natural light.
