Bridgeport Hospital's Industrial Medical Center takes a proactive, accident-and risk-reduction approach. Our goal is to help you increase efficiency and contain workers' compensation costs with common-sense, preventive interventions. The first step in a preventive program in occupational health is the identification of potential health hazards. The most effective means of accomplishing this is the preliminary work site survey.
- IMC staff members visit your facility and become familiar with your materials, processes, exposure patterns, control and protection systems, and work practices.
- The survey includes identification of risk factors, evaluation of work processes and practices, and recommendations regarding engineering controls, practice modifications, and/or personal protective equipment.
- Based on this survey, recommendations for risk reduction and safety practices are made.
